Hard work leads to very good school report card

An inspection team has given Kirktonholme Primary School and Nursery Class a very good report.
Following a recent visit from Education Scotland, the inspection team found there was a very effective leadership from the headteacher which resulted in positive outcomes and experiences for both children and teachers alike.
And through the highly inclusive learning environment that staff have worked hard to create in both the Primary School and Nursery Class, pupils were motivated to learn and are respectful and supportive of their school and nursery environment.
Head Teacher Linda Wright said: “Our school community is extremely proud of this very positive inspection report.
“Every day we have the privilege of working and learning with the most wonderful children and families.
“I would like to thank them and my amazing staff team for their support, enthusiasm and hard work.”
The report also highlighted the levels of care and respect all staff provide for pupils and their families, encouraging high levels of attainment and achievement.

Senior leaders and staff were also praised for the clear strategy that is in place to raise children’s attainment further.
Taking on board the feedback from the report, teachers will now continue to develop consistent approaches to providing children with high-quality learning experiences to ensure the best possible progress for all pupils.
Councillor Lynsey Hamilton, the chair od the council’s Education Resources Committee said: “Kirktonholme is a school where children, wellbeing and learning are highly valued. I am delighted that the inspection team recognised this during their visit.
“I am sure that head teacher Linda Wright and her staff will continue to work very hard to encourage high levels of literacy and numeracy and other curricular activities across the learning environment.”
